Crystal is a very good guard - acquired her for this purpose in 2003 and she has not failed yet - along the way she has delivered 3 daughters, the eldest is a guard at a nearby alpaca farm and the 2006 girl is leased and maybe sold -all tuxedos when bred to a solid male. With her superb paint pattern, she is a pasture standout! She is also a bit bossy - comes form being more mature, perhaps.

UPDATE! Crystal had a male cria 6/23 who is almost a copy of mom. Sire is Ike, a 6-footer. She is now bred to a red compact male. So, this is now a three in one package - until cria is weaned - or you can buy the cria and bring back the dam swapping her for another when he is 6 months old and weaned.

    Black, 265480, Breeding

Ike is a very tall, correct llama - loves to take a walk and is respectful to people as well as females that are already bred. He has six crias on the ground - first, a Nov 2007 paint female named Bluberry Parfait, describes her perfectly, was first in her first show and took the Reserve CH MW/HW ribbon in her second show. His two 2008 boys are very promising, a red one and a gray boy. He has 4 2009 crias three color copies of their dams (xerox copies) one a copy colorwise of him.

Visitors recently took one look at Ike and said they would like to add him to their show stable. A 12-yr old took him out for a walk and he behaved perfectly, even setting himself up when he heard the adult say ' Now, set him up' to the girl. The Girl has done performance and went the the ALSA Grad Nationals in 2008 - so, she is an experienced handler at that young age. I was very impressed with how my stud handled himself in front of strangers.

This llama is being weaned and halter training has started, but he has not been to any events yet. He is gentle, intelligent and easy to be around. Housed with four same size, age buddies, he gets along well with others and is eager to find his place in the world. He will likely get to go on a farm trip Oct 24 along with a buddy to help educate the public.

Looking ahead, he might be that perfect present for your youth who lives on a farm or often visits grandparents that might house him. Perhaps your youth is looking for a unique and fun 4H experience.
