About Bahama Llamas

Image is being processed by LN Bahama Llama Farm is located in southern Virginia at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and in the Smith Mountain Lake resort area. We are 4 hours south of Washington DC and 50 miles from the NC border.
Ken and I always wanted to live on a farm since we grew up that way so in 2000 we moved off the lake and onto what is now Bahama LLama Farm. We worked very hard building new fences and converting our old barn into llama friendly rooms. We started with 40 llamas spring of 2001 and 12 were bred! I had fun that spring watching from our back porch in anticipation of each birth. How exciting and we were HOOKED!
Since Ken's death in 2009 I have scaled back but not quit! I will always have llamas and will stay involved in the llama business.
My breeding program is focused on designing beautiful show llamas with correct conformation and strong statuesque frames. I love the silky fibered llamas with beautiful fuzzy faces and perfect banana ears.

Ramona is the hands on farm manager and major care taker of all the llamas. It is a given that I know the history of every llama and keep records of their health. When you purchase a llama from Bahama Llamas, you can be sure all health programs and breeding records are up to date, complete and accurate.

We have raised several of our breeding females and have our first herd sire from our breeding program. He is Duke of BAHAMAS and you can see him on our web site. Our established herd sires have the genetic traits to complement the mixes .

We welcome visitors and llama lovers to our farm. It is a pleasure to share our knowledge and experiences with you.
