Hi everyone,

I'm going to be moving with my llama herd onto a smaller property - probably about five acres. If my herd is all female (except one yearling who I hope will be my herdsire some day), how many llamas would I be able to keep on five acres? I'll be bringing in hay through the winter and as needed through the year, so I'm not worried about the land being able to sustain them food-wise, I just want to make sure they have as much room to roam as they need.

Thanks!

I was always told 4-5 llamas per acre. If you're not worried about having tons of grass all the time, you could probably go higher, but that's what I seem to remember being told. Good luck with the move!
